History Wins the Future

The Trackpads Air Archive is a structured military-aviation reference covering 755 combat-aircraft families, 1,368 documented variants, and 391 configuration-specific specification profiles. The archive is organized around aircraft families rather than a flat list of names, so major variants, operators, technical configurations, and design relationships can remain distinct.

Combat-aircraft scope

The collection focuses on aircraft designed or adapted for combat roles including fighters, interceptors, attack aircraft, bombers, maritime combat, armed reconnaissance, electronic attack, and gunships. Primary role, secondary role, crew mode, airframe configuration, era, origin, manufacturer, operator, and design relationship are modeled separately.

Images and provenance

Seven hundred fifty profiles have locally validated reusable primary images with preserved source, rights, attribution, caption, and alt-text records. Five profiles remain deliberately unillustrated because the archive would rather publish no image than substitute an uncertain one.

Sources and technical values

Historical narratives and structured fields are backed by a source-and-citation model. Specifications are stored by configuration where possible so values from different variants are not merged into one misleading “standard” aircraft.
